Welcome From the Principal

People tell us we are the "best kept secret in Troy!" Our first class graduated in 1927, and Sacred Heart School has been ever growing and changing since then. The brick and mortar of our large building, in many ways, represents the solid, Christian, academic foundation that our students receive here. Our curriculum is aligned with the Common Core Standards that are in place throughout our country. In addition to the rigor of Common Core, all children receive instruction in Spanish, Music, Technology, Physical Education and Art. Our teachers are dedicated to the ministry of teaching young children, while also instilling the importance of good character, service to others and values. We invite you to call for a personal tour of our "great school with a big heart!"

School Banking

School Banking through CapCom Bank begins this Thursday. Sign up forms will be available for new enrollees. Special thanks to Mrs. Alvey and Mr. Handerhan for volunteering their time in making this available to our students.

Parent-Student Handbook

Many families have completed and submitted pages 18, 19 and 20 of our Parent Student Handbook but there are several who still need to do this. Please read the Parent Student Handbook on our website and complete at  pages 18 – 20. Thank you.

Page 18 allows your child to utilize technology in school, 19 is if you do NOT want your child’s photographed and page 20 acknowledges that you have read the Parent Student Handbook.

A Price Chopper Puzzle

Price Chopper/Market 32 has provided a fun word search puzzle for all to enjoy while encouraging you register your AdvantEdge Card for their Tools for School program.  Sacred Heart earns points from now until December 30th which can be used to purchase equipment and supplies. Our number is 15859.

Box Tops for Education Challenge Results

We had a tremendous response to last week’s Box Tops for Education Challenge and over $105 was raised!  Mr. C was so impressed that he will be providing a cold frozen treat for the entire school!

Sacred Heart Parish Raffle

And so it begins! Sacred Heart’s Super Raffle!
You could win $10,000! There are also a number of other prizes available. Tickets will be for sale in the church rectory and the school office during the week, and after all the masses on the weekends. Only 250 tickets will sold- so hurry!

News Update

Please remember to submit your unsold KidStuff Book or $25 payment to the office. You may hold onto the copy that you received if you are still in the midst of selling them.

Our BoxTops for Education challenge stands at: Pre K Floor=109, second floor=68 and the top floor = 251!  The floor with the greatest number of labels by this Friday will be awarded a frozen treat and dance.

There is no school tomorrow (Thursday, September 21) due to a Professional Development Day.

Father Yanas Invites Everyone

Father Yanas is reminding everyone of his personal invitation to this Saturday’s  Septemberfest from 4 to 7 pm at the Brunswick Beach Park on North Lake Avenue.

Food and entertainment is free but you might like to bring a special dessert to share.
